Description:

Who we are: Comal County Women Build consists of a group of volunteers who are primarily women and who come from all walks of life. We help families build strength, stability and independence through homeownership. Comal County Habitat for Humanity (CCHFH) started its first Women Build committee on May 13, 2011. The Comal County Women Build (CCWB) Committee is committed to raising funds and volunteering to help build Habitat homes in Comal County.

What we do: We empower. Instead of just talking about making a difference, we do something about it. We come together as a community to build alongside a Habitat family. If I sign up to join Comal County Women Build, what should I expect? If you decide to join CCWB, you will commit to help raise funds through many of our fundraising efforts and spend at least 8 hours on the construction site for a Habitat home. You don't need any construction experience - we will train you! Site Support/non-construction roles also count as hours on the construction site.

Why should I sign up for Women Build? Women Build is a great way for women to have fun, help a family and make a difference in a hands-on way. You will get to meet the family you are helping face-to-face. You can spend time with friends and colleagues and make new friends while you work on fundraising and building a home! You can also learn construction skills that you can use in your own home.

When does Comal County Women Build meet? Currently, we are meeting monthly in preparation for upcoming volunteer dates and fundraisers. You can sign up for CCWB as a group or an individual by filling out the form below. If you have questions, contact us at 830-625-4025 or email us at womenbuild@comalhabitat.org!
